And yet again, Stardoll fails.

Rio - one of the oldest brands on Stardoll - has been changed from it's classic black lettering with golden crown on top to some sort of shiny 'RI' with a large 'O' surrounding it. I personally detest the new logo - it's too flashy for the old brand we're all used to and I'm praying they don't change Pretty in Pink or Fallen Angel. Opinions?

New noses and Lips

Stardoll has gone and changed the beauty parlor more again. They added noses and things to the face part. I like it but some of them are very weird looking.
Also, there has been a SLIGHT change to the lips. They add more glow when you put the ever-expensive Luxe lipgloss to them. Nice eh? I think not! It makes it look like there is white fur on your lips. But seeing as I hardly go and make major changes on my medoll, it's enough to handle. What do you think of it?

More Chanel Inspired Items

As all fashionistas of Stardoll will know, those weird, furry winter clothes sold at Tingeling, Fallen Angel, Stardoll and Bisou are actually from the Fall/Winter 2010/11 Ready-To-Wear Chanel collection. A few more items were released today in Fallen Angel.
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, take a look at the collection here:

http://www.chanel.com/fashion/11#11-fall-winter-2010-11-chanel-collection-21

Stardoll has released many of the outfits and a couple of items in the past Mortal Kiss store. I wanted Stardoll to release more of the white-ish items and those white furry boots, but they haven't so far. I don't really like how they look on Stardoll, but one day, when people figure out they're Chanel items, I'll be making a profit, just like I did with Alexander McQueen items.

This is my favourite look from the Chanel collection. I think it's gorgeous.

What do you think of Stardoll's adaption? Will you be buying the entire collection when it goes on sale? I know I will.

Suit the look..

This is a new make-over i did for my doll.I basically used everything the suited the look.I chose colours that would clash together and accessories to match. The reason i use black eyeshadow in mostly all of my make-overs is because it goes with everything. So i used the colours; Black, light Blue and light Pink.I'm also a big fan of tattoo's and piercings but i try not to use them with every look because i don't like to do the same thing over and over again.I like my dolls to be as unique as possible.I used the hair dye;dark Purple because it matched the bow.I did a light Peachy and Red blush and a Brown/skin colour Lipstick and the transparent lipgloss available in Luxe.

Let me know what you think

New Items in Starplaza: Modern Babushka

Once again, Stardoll has created another hideous range of styled outfits.

This one is titled 'Modern Babushka' and has been out for a couple of days now. I waited for a few more items to be released and I was disappointed, no surprise.

Here's a look at some of the items:

They seem to be continuing the 'Paisley Pushkin' range as well.

It doesn't seem that bad when you look at the Starplaza windows. Of course, nothing I would buy but something I've got my eyes on. It all seems a bit vintage to me.

This was my favourite Starplaza window display. It reminds me of the 1920s or 30s or sometime around there. Maybe like things they wore in Mary Poppins? I don't know how to describe it. The prices range from about 6 to 15 Stardollars, so not too expensive. Doesn't mean you should go and buy it all though, unless you're turning your Suite into something inspired by old London or Russia. It doesn't look at all like a Modern Babushka (Babushka means grandmother in Russian, also you might of seen those doll in a doll in a doll toys named 'Babushkas'), it looks more like an op-shop crochet disaster. On a more optimistic note, these are my personal favourites:

Here we have the Silk w Buttons dress, 15sds, from Rio. I quite like it. Still very thrown all together and icky, though. The Hot Buys Cotton Bag, 9sds from Pretty in Pink. Quite cheap and I like the kitty... If that actually is a kitten. The Marjan Pajoski Insp Dress, 14sds, from Rio. I did a little research on Marjan Pajoski and he is a Macedonian designer or something. He designed that weird white swan dress that we saw in Voile a while ago, and finally the Hot Buys Stardoll Rocks top from Fudge, 12sds.

Interesting...

I have seen so far that most people don't really use Luxe's make-up.Why?..i think we all know that answer. I think they are too pricey.20-24 SD on eyeshadow or Lipstick.A lot of  people around stardoll do collect them. Even i do. But i don't think its fair on us that we have to pay that much just for one eyeshadow or lipstick when we can buy a lot of make-up with that in DOT.I myself collect all types of make-up and accessories...But i also look at the price and see if it's worth it?.I think sometimes it is and sometimes it's not. When i get SS or SR i usually buy one or two a month so i don't spend a lot of my Stardollars.

And let me know what you think.

Whats in whats out....

In the Make-up industry whats styles are in in my point of view is Goth/Punk/Emo/Creative. I think this because i have done some research,i have visited a lot of people on Stardoll and they seem to go with the Flow. I have noticed that a lot of people now use smokey eyes, skin colour lips,Piercings and The black tears available in Sunny Bunny and some use the necklaces on their mouths. On the other hand some are classy and creative e.g-
black and white eyes peach lips light blush (maybe) and a Bow or hair clips for a touch.Creative would be multi coloured eyeshadow, Light lipstick/Lip-gloss and for accessories...i think they would use almost everything they have and create something fairly unique.

thanks.
Let me know what you think.

Stardoll should've learnt by now...

If they had a better presentation editor, less people would have to drag and edit and spend hours on their presentations, then contact help and support because that very presentation has been screwed over after just one 'refresh' of the page. All we ask is for a few more advanced fonts, a 'background' tool and maybe some cool effects to put on. If only - if only - Stardoll gave two hoots what we thought though. We may have seen a change to the beauty parlour recently, but I wouldn't expect much more.

Covergirl- dorothi

dorothi is the covergirl for the 19/ 1/ 11. She has been a member or Stardoll since 7/ 1/ 07 and she is from America.

Opinion;

Well, To be honest, her doll's face isn't that pretty. I don't like her eyes, and all around it is just black, with the insides white and blue. Her lips are a bit to plain for me and doesn't suit the doll. Her outfit is pretty, the dress has a pretty effect to make her doll stand out from the crowd, with the vibrant blue, and the shoes match the color of the dress. Overall, the face isn't that appealing to me, but the outfit its pretty.

What are your thoughts? :)

Hot Buys 'Bow Sweater'

EEEEEECK. Thats mostly all I have to say about the Hot Buys Bow Sweater that was released yesterday. (Sorry I didn't post when it came out, it was my birthday and I was busy answering Guestbook comments and such... Or maybe it was released today as it is the 18th today in some countries... Ohk moving on!) Here's a picture of it on my doll, if you haven't seen it already:

I don't like it at all. It's some hideous yellow that reminds me of the colour that comes onto the floor when your dog does a pee-pee in the house, and those disgusting dark green bows... Yuck.
I bought it though, naturally, due to the fact that I collect Hot Buys, even if they don't appeal to me. I wasn't surprised that I didn't like this – The January Hot Buys are just an ugly reminder of the types of clothes grandmothers make for their grandchildren on TV. I must admit, they look better in real life as always. It's 15 Stardollars and not worth the money in my opinion.

Will you be buying? (Oh, and I think Stardoll has forgotten to take away the Christmas decorations from the Starplaza.)

And no freebies? I'm ashamed.

As Stardoll neared it's ninety million member mark, most people were in a state of anticipation for the usual freebies we've been receiving for years, everytime SD hits the next ten million. This time round, however, Stardoll is trying to sell us (for extortionate prices, btw) bejewelled wall hangings, a moving-eye wall clock in the shape of a red cat, hideous dresses that match the current 'Paisley' theme and an odd lamp that belongs in some sort of Star Trek movie, definitely not in the suite's of wannabe-cover girl's around the world.
I have to say - personally - I am more than disappointed. At eighteen stardollars, the dress on the right is a thousand feet below flattering and if you choose to wear this, prepare yourself for a look that reminds me of a deflated hot hair balloon, draped in cloth that seriously needs returning to the Ugly Sisters' dress maker.
What happened to the amazing twenty stardollars we received when SD reached twenty million, all those years ago? Or the cool freebies we received back in oh nine, when Stardoll celebrated it's third birthday? It's clearly all about the money these days and I for one don't like it one bit.

New endagered species - Duck-billed platypus

- Duck billed Platypus from stardoll
The animal for January has been released. The duck billed platypus is a strange mammal that lays eggs, but feeds its young with milk. The animation that Stardoll made of it looks really strange. I know that a Platypus does not have 2 webbed feet sticking out of their stomachs. In my opinion, the drawing is shabby and does not represent a platypus in the way that I'd expect.

amy19866969 is the covergirl for the 18111. She has been a member of Stardoll since 16808. She is from America and is apart of Stardoll Royalty.

Opinion:
Her make-up is light, and not much, but it suits her dolls face and hair. Her outfit, is totally gourgeous, and I especially loved the PPQ Bubble Shorts. The only criticism I have for this doll is her hair clip, which stands out from her hair too much.
But on the whole, and beautiful doll :)

Monday 17 January 2011

It would appear that fluff is IN.

I hate to say it, as this has got to be the crappiest joke in the world, but sing 'fluff takes over' in the tune of 'When Love Takes Over' (David Guetta/Kelly Rowland) and you have basically what runs through my head as I click around the Stardoll world. The sort-of new 'Whip My Hair' store features various fluffy hair extensions - which many people call 'poofs' - and the new trend is taking over. Have you got a poof? Do you want a poof?
